The event that has marked this month was the women strike in Switzerland, on June 14, 2019, for gender equality. This is why we would like to highlight Zoé Dubois, one of our talented software engineers, travel addict, outdoor sport enthusiast, and a mother.

Zoé, can you introduce yourself?

Originally from Strasbourg, I obtained my master’s degree from the ENSIMAG (one of the top French Computer Science and Applied Mathematics engineering schools), with a specialization in Imaging and Virtual Reality, as well as a master’s degree from the IIT, a university in Chicago.

After an internship in Australia (yes, I love to travel), in a research facility for healthcare innovations, working on processing MRI-images for Alzheimer diagnosis, I started my first job at Atracsys, in 2010 – which makes me one of the first employees of the company.

What is your role within Atracsys Interactive?

I am a senior software engineer (and the only woman in the developers team!), so I spend most of my time coding and managing internal and external projects. I participate in the development of our core framework, new modules and functionalities, and also work directly with clients in order to develop their own custom projects – from conception to delivery.

As I started in the early days of the company, I quickly became very polyvalent, having to help other departments, build the hardware, go to the events… Fortunately, these start-up days are behind us and I can now concentrate on what I do best – but I still enjoy this multi-task aspect of the job sometimes.

I am also in charge of the different ‘fun’ events: afterworks, summer parties, etc…

What project was the most significant for you?

I worked on so many projects it’s hard to choose!

But if I really have to, the one that comes to my mind is Gucci: it started 6 years ago, we developed a huge application to present their jewels and watches catalog, and directly place orders.

This software is used on more than 20 interactive tables during the Baselworld fair, every year from 2013! It quickly became their main sales tool and I am really proud of it!
